A Call for Kettlebells

Hello My Darlings,

Do you ever – A) hurt yourself inadvertendly doing something trivial?
B) feel frustrated that you pull something when you do get yourself to the gym or an exercise class? Or,
C) want to deal w/ reaccuring discomfort and weakness that shows up w/ more regularity than you’d care to happen?

Well dear ones, have no fear! The option of kettlebell training is here! If I haven’t clearly made myself the poster child for this sort of workout I have NOT been doing my job.

I will be offering a 5 week class, starting 5/21, Tuesday eves from 6-7pm at Laid Back Fitness in Warwick. We will additionally be talking about support around degeneration and prevention w/ the assistance of cellular nutrition, foam rolling, and stress alleviation.

The cost of the series will be $150 (which includes an individual 30 min preliminary assessment to get a handle on your body’s particular needs).

The purpose of this series is to decode what is possibly weak or unstable in your body, and to teach you how to use kettlebells as a training tool to know how to use your body best. Forever.

Snap, Crackle, Pop! (why go chiro?)

Hello Dear Ones,

Something out of whack? Feeling askew? Contorted? Constricted?

Well, massage may be just the thing for your ailments, or there may be another technique to turn to when in dire straights ( OR BEFORE!!! ;).

Many have heard about this, now mainstream, therapy and fewer still have kicked the tires on this vehicle of health. Smaller numbers use it w/ regularity, but those that do reap the benefits.

Grrrr, yes! Cranky, creaky shoulders!

Do we assume everything is the rotator cuff? Or the dreaded and umbrella diagnosis of arthritis?!?

Well! Here’s another condition to consider when having discomfort higher up and towards your side.

Not that we’re interested in fanning the flames of hypochondria ;), but sometimes a little more knowledge can help you rest easier and treat your tender areas more effectively.

Curiosity Rules!

Oh Really Darlings?

You don’t say. And curiosity due to confusion, and frustration, and discomfort – Oh why?!?

Why would one want to give that an extended second of one’s attention??

Well, when we start to explore w/ open eyes we are far more likely to stumble upon the truth, and at the very least something useful.

Your body is wise, and if it is kicking up a fuss, we can assume it’s for a reason. No encouragement for you to stay in that sour state, but perhaps checking out why it might exist may help you treat it differently and perhaps even (shudder) prevent it from happening again (:O!).

To giving yourself the benefit of the doubt, and looking for answers near where the problem lies.

Make a Bigger Lever!

Hello Dear Ones,

Yes! Add power to your push or pull my creating a bigger lever w/ your body!

Many of us suffer from over taxed tiny joints (thumbs, wrists, sometimes shoulders…), and believe it is an inevitability of life. Not so!

Yes these aspects of us are doing the detail work in our world, but they do NOT, nor should they be, the main movers in the equation.

So free up the small stuff and make the larger aspects of yourself sweat a bit. You will be generating more force in any given movement, and creating more comfort (and longevity!!) for the little guys.

To creating tools, and using more of you for every job.

Neck Pain Drain

Hello My Darlings,

Ok! Not only can neck pain be a drag, but this tender, tight and vulnerable spot can often feel unfixable on our own :(.

As the crowing from this end generally centers around strengthening an area to make it feel better, what happens w/ the neck? How does one strengthen such a spot??

As always, watch and learn and see if utilizing such a practice keeps you far and away from the table (and trouble!) for longer.
